WHY I WANT TO JOIN UTHHAN? “Uthhan”- Empowering Artisans as the name indicates, it is the upliftment of the economically backward class artisans of India. I came to know regarding this organization one year ago and as I am a healthcare provider, a social activist I had always been a part of it since then. India’s culture is known by its heritage, here in “Uthhan” they are saving this heritage for a noble cause by helping out those artisans who seek recognition in the society. The organisation benefits not only by showcasing the talent of the artisans but also creates homes for their families, educate them, provides insurance policies and help them improve their standard of living. I am glad to be a part of the unit and help these artisans in showcasing their piece of work in form of paintings, sculptures, pottery etc. And provide assurance of making these products reach to the people directly and not through any channels by middlemen or other illegal financial exploiters. This effort will unify all type of skilled workers across India which will lead a new ray of hope for the community to fight for their rightful cause without fear.
